The Desarda Technique
WHAT IS A HERNIA?
A weakness in the abdominal wall allows tissue or intestine to bulge outward.

UNDERSTANDING THE WEAKNESS
The hernia occurs due to a weak area in the abdominal wall. The goal is to strengthen this area.

THE DESARDA TECHNIQUE
A strip of the patient’s own tissue (external oblique aponeurosis) is gently mobilized without detaching it completely.

REINFORCEMENT OF THE WEAK AREA
The mobilized tissue strip is placed over the weak area and secured in a tension-free manner, reinforcing the abdominal wall.

STRONG & NATURAL REPAIR
The abdominal wall regains its strength. The repair is strong, stable, and allows natural movement.

RETURN TO ACTIVE LIFE
Most patients can return to daily activities and enjoy normal life with comfort and confidence.

OUR VISION
Advancing Hernia Surgery Through Innovation
Driven by the vision of Prof. Dr. Mohan Desarda, our mission is to make safe, physiological, and mesh-free hernia repair accessible to patients worldwide. Every step of our care is guided by scientific research, ethical practice, and a commitment to improving long-term patient outcomes.
A Revolutionary Surgical Approach
The Desarda Mesh-Free Hernia Repair Technique was developed after years of extensive research into the anatomy and physiology of the inguinal canal. Instead of relying on synthetic mesh, the technique reinforces the weakened area using the patient’s own tissue while maintaining the natural physiology of the abdominal wall.
Global Recognition & Clinical Impact
Today, the Desarda Technique is practised by surgeons across multiple countries and has been presented at international surgical conferences. It has been discussed in peer-reviewed publications and international surgical literature, making it one of the recognised tissue-based approaches for inguinal hernia .
Faster Patient Recovery
Most patients recover comfortably, resume daily activities sooner, and experience less post-operative discomfort with appropriate care and follow-up.
